Comic Books

A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

End of month list is up! Small one for me but that's ok!

Operation Sunshine Already Dead #4 - Final issue of this run. Will there be another? Who knows but if there is I'll get it. Love the LPOTL crew's stuff, they also did Soul Plumber but I like this series better, I'll get whatever they do next.

William Of Newbury #3 - Loving this series! Based off an actual dude of a similar name, the series follows an anthropomorphized raccoon priest traveling and ridding the countryside of demons and foul spectres. The art is great imo, sort of reminds me of the old PSP game Death Jr, but like almost watercolored.

Drawing Blood #4 - Kevin Eastman rules. This series isn't about turtles but it's still pretty interesting so far!

Honorable mention to Falling In Love on the Path to Hell (3rd print). It's getting a 3rd for a reason, it's damn good! A cowboy and a cool lady samurai die and wash up in purgatory together, what's not to love? Cool art, good writing, and O'Hallorhan colors!

Well that's it for me! What're y'all grabbing this week?

Haven't had the chance to comment on the whole "New and Notable" for a while. health issues taking me away. :( But I'm back now!

Stuff to look at this week!

Cosmic Epics The Seminal Works Of Edgar Rice Burroughs - A Princess of Mars, The Moon Maid, Pirates of Venus
Savage Epics The Seminal Works Of Edgar Rice Burroughs - Tarzan of the Apes, At the Earth's Core, The Land That Time Forgot

What a great opportunity to catch up on ERB. Everyone knows Tarzan of course, fewer people known John Carter of Mars. virtually nobody knows the other works he did.

Department Of Truth #24 - Two issues back to back, looks like this is back on schedule!

Ultimate Spider-Man #7 - I am so behind on this. I need to catch up.

X-Force #1 - The X-Men post krakoa reboot has been weak sauce so far. But we'll see where this goes.

Well that was anti-climactic! Light week for me!

That ERB looks interesting. I've been meaning to read Tarzan, I just haven't got into it yet.
