Fuck this is some real good shit. I don't love Labor, and I find them far too liberal (in the traditional sense—unrelated to the Australian political party by that name) for my tastes, but never let anyone fool you into believing they're exactly the same as the LNP. That might be true in a few policy areas, but these changes we see here prove it is absolutely not true overall.

I don't really understand the road workers one, but all of the other changes seem absolutely brilliant for workers. Well done Labor.

Agreed 100%. Labor have achieved more good things in this term than the Liberal party achieved in the some 20 years they have been in power since the 1990s.

Another thing I want to acknowledge is how constructive the relationship between the crossbench and the government have been, with all parties (that is, Labor and the minor parties + independents) generally acting in good faith. For example, the right to disconnect amendment is something that the Greens have been pushing for some time.

This is in stark contrast to the Liberal + crossbench relationship, with the latter generally banging their head against the wall for years and only rarely getting anything useful from them.
