Another viable alternative: give them half of Texas. It'll work out great, American evangelicals are batty for Israel (the state), now only a short drive away, and Israel will get to have their batshit insane theocratic ethnostate.

Texas was invaded and stolen from Mexican territory (after the war of independence from Spain) to create a loophole to allow the US to have more slave states.
