I don't want to encourage people clicking random .onion links. I can send you the link to my simplex group which has the .onion link in the welcome message.

Why shouldn't we trust CaptainCanaryLLC?

Seriously though, the way that we are able to trust a .onion is by having many trustworthy people post it in multiple public locations, then we users can look to see if they match.

Its more sketch to get it in a DM than a public forum where others can comment on its legitimacy

BTW the standard way infosec reports protect (potentially) malicious domains is with this syntax
