I never buy eggs. I don't eat them. However I have a recipe I'd like to try, that requires an egg.

In the supermarket, small shops, and even the small farm shop I looked in, they come in minimum packs of six. If I buy six, five will be wasted into the bin.

Surely there's somewhere that will sell me a single egg? I'd have thought the farm shop would but nope.

Or if not, is there something I can do with the other five other than eat them?

You can freeze eggs, so if the recipe is good, you can make it 5 more times in the future?

Or as others have suggested - give the extra eggs to a neighbour or even your local soup kitchen or anywhere ese that serves cooked food to people in need, they might accept them (though maybe call and ask first to make sure), or as a last resort, leave them out for wild animals to eat?

Even unfrozen, eggs keep for months.
