This is great and all. But it’d be even better if there were more awareness campaigns on male contraceptive options and a bigger push for the male birth control pill.
So does this bill make condoms free for everyone? It would be weird and sexist imo if they don’t do that.
To me it sounds like it's only for female contraceptives.
On the one hand, sure, on the other hand, female contraceptives are not only useful for stopping pregnancy and are much more valuable and varied in their applications as a medicine than a pill that makes your swimmers drown.
You know why these “much more valuable applications” are known? The pill for women has been around for so long that doctors and medical researchers have been able to observe and test it. We’ve yet to see what other potentially valuable medical applications a male birth control pill can have. While your argument doesn’t deny the support for male bc, it very much seems to support the idea that women should still carry most of the burden and responsibility of bc, and all the side effects that come with using whichever method.
I mean, free condoms wouldn’t be that bad of an idea, not everybody can take the pill. But didn’t all male contraceptive pills so far fail trials? Not sure if it’s even still worked on…
The newest one, YCT-529, is still in clinical trials until June so we ont hear anything till closer to the fall if not the end of the year. Shit a market value estimate of $200b+ means they are absolutely still trying.

Huh, neat. But I don’t suppose that’s gonna come to Europe that soon, if it passes trial at all. Would be great tho. Am not a huge fan of condoms but even less so a fan of children…
