Alabama suffocated a man to death in a gas chamber tonight after starving him so he wouldn't choke on his own vomit as they did it. And this was deemed perfectly legal by multiple courts in the vaunted American legal system.
That's what happens when you value institutions over people.

A life sentence is justice served.
Not for the victims who can’t live a full life.
A life in prison is justice for taking a life.
Many families of the victims who will never see their loved ones again will disagree with that sentiment.
Many families of victims who will never see their loved ones again will also agree. Either way, it doesn't make it untrue.
