And worth it! They're responsible for hundreds of lives on board. I don't think I have the temperament to do it. You need to be 100% concentrating all the time and even if you are working perfectly you can still have idiots do something on the tracks that you are powerless to help. Suddenly, someone is dead.

I've even been the idiot pedestrian who almost stepped in front of a tram and got themself killed from stupidity. Luckily another pedestrian beside me was more on-the-ball that day than I was and warned me.

Plus the hours are crap, it kills your social life.

Yeah especially trams. You are constantly interacting with cars and bikes and pedestrians. You canโ€™t swerve and thereโ€™s only so much braking a tram can do. If I must drive something Iโ€™d choose the train.
