Socialism
Rules TBD.
Should probably organize something then, eh Bernie? Use that clout to build an org?
How does he propose doing that, just vote harder?
Oh, now is the time? Not 5 years ago? Not 10 years ago? Burh democrats are such fucking clowns. Now its too late. Your momey isolated you from reality, and you and the republicans fucked us all to death.
10 years ago it was as well, and he was saying that. And if I understand correctly, the issues he used to point out, and still is, have gotten more urgent. So he's not wrong, I think.
tbh I don't bother to watch too much american politics.
it's the most important election of our lives ..... again..... but also the democrats are going push me aside when it comes time for the election ....... for the 3rd time ..... but you should totally vote for them anyways because the other guys are worse.
At first I read that as "Bernie Sanders says defending oligarchy now most urgent issue"
"Bernie Sanders accidentally spills his real position" at which he was at least since 1999
Sanders will say that It's OK to Be Angry About Capitalism, and he’ll complain about “crony” capitalism and “über” capitalism, but as a liberal he’ll never question capitalism as such. He’ll never question private ownership of the means of production.
For what it's worth, their platform is an interesting bridge which does make the concept of 'socialism' more palatable to those who have only heard of the term in reference to Stalin and Mao. They're the entrance to a pipeline. And while I think it's worth investigating and IMO ultimately a good thing, it's also important to understand that Bernie is not a socialist in any meaningful interpretation of the term - they're pro-capitalism, what they want is social capitalism. They only aim to fix the symptoms, not the root cause.
I support him in so far as he is leagues more socialist than the vast majority of his peers in the democratic party. But ultimately, yeah, he's not likely to support a total overthrow of the capitalist institution in America. I think he'd rather America more closely resemble the Scandinavian countries politically. Honestly, I think opposing him in achieving that is kind of foolish. It would objectively improve the lives of hundreds of millions of people. It would be a path forward, and in many ways, it is a foreseeable path, one that I don't think is impossible.
I'd also support a general strike and an outright revolutionary uprising, though. Capitalism is and has always been the problem. Doing away with it in its entirety is the right thing to do. Human life shouldn't be for profit. The fruits of production should be shared fairly among all. The progress achieved by science and engineering should be a collective boon for all of humanity.
Honestly, I think opposing him in achieving that is kind of foolish.
the democrats don't agree and have proved it in 2016 & 2020
I think the trick is to move the needle. I still think he has solid ideas to shift the paradigm. Link from 2020 run
