Not sure but there has been a torrent of leaks as of late.
Oh no! It says there might be early spoilers! Yikes!
Nothing for me to do but go download the ROM and play it early, then. I have no choice.

At this point, I think it's gone from "ethically okay" to "mandatory".
It's like downloading Metallica's newest album. Sure, I might never listen to it, but it's the principle.

How does it happen?
The first gen switch is really easy to hack. Once someone in the supply-line gets their hands on a cartridge, it's already online.
With ho wierdly consistent these leaks are now.
I doubt Nintendo is smart enough to use that as a biz strategy, by like, there has to be some intention behind this from on an insider.
Has Nintendo ever had the entire rom of a major game leak before it was released?
Not quite the same but there was a working GBA emulator before the console released.
In case this was asked in earnest, yes- it happens all the time. Nintendo releases have been notoriously leaky for about 3 years now
Happened with Tears of the Kingdom too iirc.
And Echoes of Wisdom too.
Skyward Sword too, going back to the Wii era. That was probably just someone at a games store dumping the disc when it was shipped to them before they could legally sell it though.
And Metroid dread. I finished that one the weekend before it came out. Then bought the collectors tin.
One of the gen 9 pokemon games. I think violet?
I was out with my wife's family coordinating with my brother by text trying to get it downloaded.
