"Regime" is a derogatory method of describing a group. Wouldn't expect less from you.

“Regime” is a derogatory method of describing a group

Not really, I've heard it be used in a neutral context to describe not just groups, but ways of doing things.

But at least in this case, it is being used in a derogatory way to describe a country which has brought untold amounts of suffering to so many people on the planet, and continues to be a capitalist hellhole. Like, I have never met an English man who doesn't hate the UK government, and all of them would be on board with calling it a "regime" (derogatory).

A political regime refers to the system of governance or the established code of conduct, including societal norms and expectations, which dictate the operations and interactions between a governing body and its constituents.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I guess you aren't a native English speaker to understand the way it is used in the real world. If that's true, then my comment is unwarranted. But we both know that isn't true.

You should let wikipedia know ASAP, sounds like their English isn't so good https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regime

While the word régime originates as a synonym for any type of government, modern usage has given it a negative connotation, implying an authoritarian government or dictatorship.

Another attempt at bad faith misinformation. That's like your calling card. Carry on.

This is unrelated, but this is the first time I've seen a moving thumbnail in Lemmy and it's pretty cool.

Freedom and democracy in the West. Gaza has dropped a lot of masks.

Love Richards coverage. I'm glad he's not rattled.
