It's weird that I knew all this but it's way more chilling to have Harris' campaign tell us.

Hate to be picky but that isn't a Harris statement, it's a statement by an official of her campaign. Not that that she (and I) wouldn't agree
Why do you guys trust these people that just are using things out of context?
We have four entire years of context. Trump isn't an unknown quantity by any stretch. We know what he wants to do, even if he wasn't saying these things.
We have years of them writing bullshit headlines, why do you trust them when they lie over and over?
Oh god I’m gonna love to see this pretzel get made.
What exactly is out of context here?
If I understand it right (I only read a comment claiming this he says that specifically for/to Christians that don't normally vote, trying to convince them to vote this one time. I keep planning to confirm this but have not taken the time to do so yet.
Anyone have a link to this speech or his?
That is the case, yes. And still, it changes nothing. He is still suggesting that if Christians go out and vote this year, they won’t have to ever again because, and these are his words, “it’ll be fixed.”
There is no context in which this isn’t antidemocratic.
The context was that he is going to do such an amazing job that voting wont be important because things are so good. I get its silly, which it was probably meant to be, but obviously he was not claiming he was going to be dictator. Why would you believe he would claim that?
Probably because he has literally claimed he will be a dictator (for one day only, wink wink). And probably because he actually attempted, in a number of illegal ways, to not count the last election so he could remain in power. You know, like a dictator.
Look, if this was literally anybody else I'd be willing to use a more charitable interpretation. Call it a gaffe at least. But Trump should have burned every last ounce of benefit of the doubt that anybody has for him the moment he abandoned his colleagues in the Capitol so he could see what the violent mob would do.
We spent the entire 2020 election going "Oh Trump doesn't really mean it like that." Until he did exactly what he fucking said he would do. Why are we doing this again?
The issue is that literally every single thing that you guys use is misleading or a direct lie when it comes to trumps rhetoric. And you guys believe this because the media repeats these lies over and over. "No I am thinking for myself". No you are not, its obvious because the lies they are telling, you repeat exactly the same. Why do you believe these people when they keep lying to you?
Why do you believe Trump when he keeps lying to you? The eagerness to trust the explanation given to you by a literal convicted felon fraudster is astounding.
I dont believe trump... Why do you believe these people when they keep lying to you? If you had a friend that always lied would you believe them when they told you something?
Not real context, but I imagine the mental gymantics are going: it will be such a tremendous presidency, incredibly great, really, that nobody will ever vote non-republican again. You won't need to vote anymore. Everyone else will do it for you.
