Rules for Posting Guides on Our Community

1. Defining a Guide Guides are comprehensive reference materials, how-tos, or comparison tables. A guide must be well-organized both in content and layout. Information should be easily accessible without unnecessary navigation. Guides can include flowcharts, step-by-step instructions, or visual references that compare different elements side by side.

2. Infographic Guidelines Infographics are permitted if they are educational and informative. They should aim to convey complex information visually and clearly. However, infographics that primarily serve as visual essays without structured guidance will be subject to removal.

3. Grey Area Moderators may use discretion when deciding to remove posts. If in doubt, message us or use downvotes for content you find inappropriate.

4. Source Attribution If you know the original source of a guide, share it in the comments to credit the creators.

5. Diverse Content To keep our community engaging, avoid saturating the feed with similar topics. Excessive posts on a single topic may be moderated to maintain diversity.

6. Verify in Comments Always check the comments for additional insights or corrections. Moderators rely on community expertise for accuracy.

Community Guidelines

By following these rules, we can maintain a diverse and informative community. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to the moderators. Thank you for contributing responsibly!

At least New Jersey isn't malformed here!

It's neighbors though...oof.

And it's a good garden state, love cranberry bogs.

Lmao at Wyoming being the equality state.

They legalized women's suffrage and allowed women to hole public office in 1869, much sooner than any other state or the 19th amendment

That's cool, but ask them how they treat women and brown/black people. I've heard some truly wild shit in Wyoming.

Um, the "Sunshine State"!

Fun fact: calling Oklahoma citizens “Sooners” is actually a historical insult. They won’t take it that way in modern times, but it’s a reference to the fact that during the land rush, they behaved illegally and left to go stake land “too soon”.

Quebec has their own flag.

And a fleur de lys would be more appropriate than this.

Am I going insane or did they flood Maryland on this map? I seriously can't see it, just a suspiciously Maryland-shaped bay where Maryland should be

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago

Maryland has really fallen off the map these days

Came here with the same question

Wyoming the equality state?

I'd always heard "Onterrible" for Ontario, and I've definitely never heard anyone call it "the Heartland Province".

  1. Canada doesn’t have states
  2. I have never heard anyone call BC the “Pacific Province” - that really sounds like someone from out east who had never thought of the west coast but knew Oregon was the Beaver State was put on the spot and made up something that sounded plausible.

BCer here, never heard that.

"Supernatural BC", on the other hand.

Also incorrectly coded Saskatchewan "Land of the Living Skies" as "Climate/Weather"

Anyone who's lived there knows it's a reference to the density of flying insects.

Came here to begrudgingly add that. A very cool guide. But as a near 50 year BC resident I’ve never heard that.

“Beautiful BC”, Lotus Land, …?

Hah… they got it from the Wikipedia page, which looks like someone just made stuff up and linked it. Wikipedia cites a CashNetUSA 2019 blog article that’s already been taken down.
