Based on the Very Low preset, which looks at an average of 30 FPS with 1280x720 resolution, we are looking at an AMD Ryzen 3 1200 CPU, Nvidia GTX 960, 8gb RAM, and 75GB of hard drive space.

...

For reference, Street Fighter 6 and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth have similar minimum requirements, and both play exceptionally well on the Steam Deck, so that's a huge boost to confidence!

You guys need to try out streaming from PC and/or PS5 to Steam Deck. Technically everything runs on the SD in this scenario. I'm playing FF7 Rebirth on the SD via my PS5 right now, and it is glorious. Helldivers 2 via the gaming rig is also pretty sweet.

Steam's built in Remote Play and Chiaki4Deck are the best!

My Steam Deck is my gaming PC/console. I couldn't justify or afford a 2nd one.

I’ve been streaming Helldivers 2 to the Steam Deck too. It’s amazing as long as you have a good router.

I would, but I had my main game hard drive fail on my PC and haven't replaced it yet for some reason. So I'm left with 1.5 TB of game storage on the deck, and only 30GB of game storage on my PC, leaving it mostly as a work only device.

One of these days I'll actually get around to buying a new drive for it, but as it is the deck runs just about everything I want to play.

Check out the company Silicon Power. If you don't need anything fancy storage has gotten laughably cheap. I impulse bought more because I couldn't install a game and was so surprised by the price.

This is good to know. I'll play it when the price drops ..... Patientgamers unite

Will very low look like garbage though?

I heard from a friend that Ghost of Tsushima is prettier than Horizon: Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, so I too would be interested to know how it will potentially look.

Might be a gaming-rig-only kind of game, especially if the art direction is integral to the experience.

Hi! The art direction is definitely one of the top selling points. The gameplay is the top, art direction second, story is third. That is my opinion at least, as the story kind of shoehorned you into choices I didn't want to make, but I understand it is not my story. It is the story of Jin that I have a little wiggle room to change up slightly.

Given that other Playstation 5 titles are playable on the Deck, I assume that most of the games ported from that platform will be playable. Off course, given the port is not borked. Ghost of Tsushima is also on the PS4, therefore the game is already optimized to run on old hardware.

generally speaking, anything that ran okay on the base ps4 will probably run on the steam deck.

This statement is still somehow amazing to me years later. I mean imagine having a PS5 in a handheld shortly after it reaches end of support in a handful of years

if Strix Halo is a real product (mega APU with 40 CU igpu, basically 6700 XT CU count, but modern rnda) when accounting for the nerf of switching to system ram over graphics ram performance, youd get ~PS5 performance at a 100W cpu.

you'd need to probably sit down at least 3 AMD gpu generations to bring that power consumption down to 30W where it would more practically be seen on handhelds. AMD gpu generations are roughly 25% generation over generation given same CU count. Id reckon 2028 at the earliest where it would be physically viable. (wont be cheap, would be like 1000$+ device)
