My elbow scab is SO ITCHY!! ARGH!! It has been itchy for days but I've done really well to not scratch at it but it's driving me mental!
Well it's sad to see the Bendigo Hotel closing, they have also done a lot to pee off the metal scene recently.
Things have been really sus there since the start of this year. Booking less metal, removing metal merch on the wall, and trying to change the vibe of the place.
Looks like the Ungrateful Dead fest also has to find a new venue as well.
Has anyone here ever changed jobs without qualifications/experience and was successful in getting a new job in the new field? If so, how did you go about writing the cover letter?
Since I'm studying teaching and realise it is a lot of theory, I thought I might apply for a job as a teachers assistant but I don't have any experience in the field. I've been working on my cover letter and covered how I am studying my education degree, relevant skills I've picked up in my current and past roles, why I want to change careers and how I want to get some hands on experience so I can be best prepared to be a teacher and even mentioned it as an investment in both (the school and me) our futures.
I also mentioned Ive done work with kids for school talks with my books
I said I don't have any experience and someone told me I shouldn't mention that. But I figure being upfront about it is the best way to go. They're going to see it on the resume and even in the cover letter.
Any thoughts on including that part or anything else I should mention?
And should my resume cover my past work roles and all I've done or things that might be relevant to the role I am applying for?
Thanks,
Pretty sure there is an Ask a Manager post about exactly this
Ms Cat had a big day yesterday. First of all she stole my bed and my girl at 6am.
Then in the evening she stole my cash.
I don't think I've carried that much cash since before Covid.
Yeah my guess is she wanted to get on the bags.
Yeah. I guess tiny is a drug dealer
High roller kitty.
Mayor of Tinytown
Oh she CERTAINLY is. There was no elections, its an authoritarian dictatorships.
Next she steals your car and heads to the pokies.
First ever actual job application submitted. Took me two days to get the CV and Cover letter in proper shape but now I can modify them lightly for other jobs.
Good luck!
Thank you!

Come to think of itβ¦does anyone know where Smeg went/if sheβs all right? I havenβt seen her DTing in months
I checked her profile a while ago cause I was concerned, but she was posting on puppy subs, so I figured she'd just been lost to the DT amongst all of... that gestures vaguely
Occasionally I look up the date for special days and discovered today is Steak & Blow job day. Don't worry ladies there's Cake & Cunnilingus day on April 14 for us. And here I thought they were just for birthdays. I went with pi day.
I must admit to having forgotten pi day this year. Out of pastry. Itβs a good excuse for a walk to the shops.
I saw your collection and I'm in love β₯
Prior year pic. Examining cupboards and plotting menu now πΊ
Oooooo. Let's us know what flavours there will be.
Lorraine. Always! Brie & caramel onion Tom rosemary balsamic Pear & choc Weed quiche . (Fennel, sorrel, mallow.) Guinness for the big ones
I hope you all have a life like Pi; never ending and irrational
A friend used that in their wedding vows. It was awesome.
I feel like my body's run down at the moment.
I think I'm going to take the day off from work tomorrow and hopefully I'll be right after the weekend.
In pants on a tram. The things I do for money...
if you're on a tram without pants I think that costs you more money, just quietly.
Seem to have succumbed to whatever-it-is - I suspect a touch of the lurgie plus leftover exhaustion from the heat catching up.
Considering my work today would have likely been driving a 97 year old to do his shopping plus cleaning for a cancer patient who apparently is worse since I last saw her plus an immunocompromised father and daughter, it was definitely safer to stay home.
Mrs gets the mechanical check back on her potential new car today. If it passes she'll probably be picking it up tonight. Told her this is it though. If I'm back on carsales again within the next 4 years i'll lose my mind. Her new-to-her car will be the 6th car we've "owned" in the last 2 years. I'm absolutely over it.
What was wrong with the other cars?
Car 1 too small for Baby and occasionally tried to kill her. Car 2 Mazda Diesel. Just dont ever, trust me. Occasionally tried to kill me and our baby. Car 3 (my car) sold to pay off the debt of car 2. Sadly missed. Car 4 (my new car) SUV, the only one we still have. Car 5 her work car, but she resigned (which she hated, both the car and the job).
Oh man, what a pain. Good luck!!!
And +1 about the Mazda diesels... good friend who is a mechanic also says to avoid them like the PLAGUE.
Exact opposite of the petrols, which are rock solid (and having owned five, including two that went north of 300k before replacement and my current daily at 120k, I can confirm).
