What does capitalism have to do with this?

They didn't understand, saw an inaccurate meme, and wanted to bitch over a use case they don't understand. I'm not sure what do complicated about the modern lemmy lurker.

Disposable towels? Single use compressed Towels?

the endless focus on consumption with no reuse, the usage of resources?

It’s for hikers who need to be careful about how much weight they carry. They can also be used like wet wipes.

Weight or volume? Technically a compressed object weighs the same as uncompressed, ex. a sheet of paper

Skill issue, tbh.. If you can't afford the extra grams for two small towels, then you need to get a little bit more stamina.

I used these things in my edc kit. It’s not about the weight, it’s about the space, and they’re really only ever used in emergencies. I wouldn’t say they’re a good product though.

Needlessly using disposable stuff for hiking is like driving a coal-rolling Diesel truck into the mountains to enjoy the pristine nature.
