I’m so sick of social media users doing a surprised pikachu when the data they willingly give to the surveillance state is then used by the surveillance state.

I think thats the point tho. Social media isn't a problem. Linking social media accounts to your real world identity is the problem
Good data hygiene means changing your social media accounts frequently and never linking them to your identity
