An impaired driver was arrested in Victoria after allegedly hitting a "report impaired driver" sign with their pickup truck.

West Shore RCMP said they received a call from a witness around 9:55 p.m. PT March 21, who told police they had seen the driver speed onto a sidewalk and crash into the sign before driving away.

A police officer attended the location at Craigflower Rd. and Admirals Rd. in the community of View Royal, about six kilometres west of Victoria, where they found the sign crumpled on the ground, along with a licence plate from the vehicle.
