Californiians could soon be voting on a new healthcare law named after Luigi Mangione, the Ivy League grad who is accused of executing the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in cold blood.

The “Luigi Mangione Access to Health Care Act,” was put forward by retired Los Angeles attorney Paul Eisner, who said the sick stunt was necessary to get publicity for his proposal.

The proposed ballot measure would make it illegal for an insurance company to “delay, deny or modify any medical procedure or medication” recommended by a doctor if there could be serious consequences including “disability, death, amputation, permanent disfigurement, loss or reduction of any bodily function,” according to the document filed to the California Attorney General’s Office.

Tthe terms “delay” and “deny” were written on the bullet casings that were found at the Midtown Manhattan scene where health insurance exec Brian Thompson was gunned down last December.

They were believed to be inspired by the book “Delay, Deny, Defend: Why Insurance Companies Don’t Pay Claims and What You Can Do About It.”

While the naming has drawn swift criticism, Eisner defended invoking Mangione’s name, telling CBS 8, “For a very simple reason: it is getting the attention it needs, because sometimes things require publicity.”

President Trump said he doesn’t want to discuss his plans for 2028 but said “so many people” are asking him to run for a third term — a move prohibited by the Constitution.

Trump was asked about his comments from an earlier Sunday interview in which he said he was “not joking” about running for a third term and said there were some potential methods that could allow him to seek another term.

“I’m not looking at that, but I’ll tell you, I have had more people ask me to have a third term, which in a way is a fourth term because the other election — the 2020 election — was totally rigged, so it’s actually sort of a fourth term,” Trump said, when asked whether his comments earlier meant he’s “not planning to leave office on January 20.”

Trump repeatedly touted what he described as the success of his administration, saying that’s the reason people want him to stay in office.

When a reporter noted the constitution limits the president to two terms in office, Trump interrupted, saying, “I don’t even want to talk about it.”

“I’m just telling you I have had more people saying, ‘please run again,’” Trump said. “We have a long way to go before we even think about that, but I’ve had a lot of people.”

Trump dug his heels in, when a reporter asked whether it’s “an appropriate precedent to set, even if it’s not you in that position.”

“I don’t even want to talk about a third term now because no matter how you look at it, you’ve got a long time to go,” Trump said in response.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested discussing the establishment of temporary governance in Ukraine, under the guidance of the UN and several countries. The aim would be to conduct elections in the country since Vladimir Zelensky’s presidential term officially expired in May 2024.

Moscow sees no clear way to sign any agreements with Kiev since “other leaders might come tomorrow,” Putin explained on Thursday night while addressing the sailors of the Arkhangelsk nuclear submarine.

“In such cases, international practice follows a well-known path within the framework of the United Nations peacekeeping activities; several instances have already demonstrated what is referred to as external management or temporary administration”, he suggested.

External powers should facilitate elections in Ukraine to “establish a capable government that has the trust of the people”, Putin stressed. After that, the new Ukrainian government could begin negotiations with Moscow and sign a peace agreement “that would be recognized around the world and will be reliable and stable.”
