"The rollout of the new aid effort over the past week by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an effort conceived in Israel and endorsed by the United States, was supposed to help Palestinians get aid while keeping it out of the hands of Hamas.

Instead the effort, criticized by multiple aid groups and the United Nations, has devolved into scenes of chaos and death. The New York Times spoke to eight witnesses who described how attempting to reach the sites had become a life-threatening endeavor."

In Haifa, ‘coexistence’ requires silence about Israeli war crimes (Ghousoon Bisharat | +972 Magazine, 2025-06-06)

A report from #Haifa, "a mixed Jewish-Palestinian city". Do click ⬆️ and read the whole article.

>> Last Saturday, I joined thousands in the streets to protest the genocide. But the ensuing backlash has made me question whether I'm welcome in my own city.

>> I would like to start with a confession: this was the first time I joined a demonstration against Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza...

>> The demonstration was organized by the Peace Partnership, a broad coalition of dozens of organizations and political parties ...

>> The backbone of this coalition is the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash/Al-Jabha), the only Arab-Jewish party in Israel, though the vast majority of its members and voters are Palestinian citizens of Israel.

"“You just need to destroy the neighborhood, so that they can’t come back there. Why to destroy? That’s the mission; that’s what I carry out.”

Those are the words of an Israeli sergeant from the 432 Tzabar Battalion of the Givati Brigade who spoke to Drop Site News on condition of anonymity due to Israeli military policy. Givati was one of the brigades involved in implementing the General’s Plan—a policy devised by former General Giora Eiland that used the lack of access to water, food, and medicine as a weapon of war to force the besieged Palestinians in the north of Gaza to starve or surrender."

"The University of Michigan is using private, undercover investigators to surveil pro-Palestinian campus groups, including trailing them on and off campus, furtively recording them and eavesdropping on their conversations, the Guardian has learned.

The surveillance appears to largely be an intimidation tactic, five students who have been followed, recorded or eavesdropped on said. The undercover investigators have cursed at students, threatened them and in one case drove a car at a student who had to jump out of the way, according to student accounts and video footage shared with the Guardian."

This is a really weird one. But shout-out to Amelia for actually mentioning Palestine on her platform. How sad is it that we have to celebrate such small bloody things?

"Although it seems highly likely, even to the State Department, that Rodriguez acted entirely alone and on his own initiative, this hasn’t stopped the mainstream media, the Trump administration, or the Israeli government from attempting to use the shooting to silence its critics, sanctify and romanticize the lives of the victims (a privilege denied to the more than 60,000 people murdered by Israel in Gaza), and to actively propagate the lie that the movement for Palestine is a violent and antisemitic threat to domestic peace. >> Ireland's prestigious Trinity College Dublin said on Wednesday that it would cut all links with Israel in protest at "ongoing violations of international and humanitarian law".

>> The recommendations would be "enacted for the duration of the ongoing violations of international and humanitarian law" ...

>> The taskforce was set up after part of the university's campus in central Dublin was blockaded by students for five days last year in protest at Israel's actions in Gaza.

>> It "should seek to align itself with like-minded universities and bodies in an effort to influence EU policy concerning Israel's participation in such collaborations,"...

>> The stevedores at the port in Fos-sur-Mer outside Marseille have refused to load crates of links used to assist the rapid fire of bullets aboard the cargo vessel, the #CGT trade union said.

>> Links are small metal pieces, used to connect machine gun bullets and allow rapid bursts of fire. There has been concern in media and among rights groups that they have likely been used against civilians in the Gaza Strip.

>> According to the union, the cargo is 19 pallets of links manufactured by the Marseille-based company #Eurolinks.

"But the attacks are coming: In a broad effort to criminalize pro-Palestine activism as “material support for terrorism,” there is no doubt that JVP is high on the list of targets. The group is mentioned prominently as a “Hamas Support Organization” alongside groups like Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) in the Heritage Foundation’s Project Esther, a plan created last fall to quickly dismantle the Palestine movement in the first year or two of a favorable administration."

[Jewish Voice For Peace - JVP in USA] June 5, 2025

On June 5, Members of Congress introduced the first ever bill that proactively seeks to prevent the U.S. from sending some of the worst weapons to the Israeli military.

Congresswoman Delia Ramirez (Illinois) along with Representatives Sara Jacobs (California), Pramila Jayapal (Washington), and Mark Pocan (Wisconsin) led 18 other members of Congress in introducing the Block the Bombs Act, historic legislation that would prevent Trump from sending some of the worst-offender weapons that #Israel has used to carry out genocide against #Palestinians in Gaza.

Tell your member of Congress to join the Block the Bombs Act today.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the country is using armed gangs in Gaza to help fight Hamas, his admission coming after a new wave of military strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip that left at least 52 Palestinians dead.

Netanyahu said the government had “activated” powerful local clans in the enclave on the advice of “security officials”, his video statement posted to X on Thursday coming hours after former Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman accused him of deploying the tactic.

The statement marked the government’s first public acknowledgement that it had backed the armed Palestinian groups based around powerful families, which stand accused by aid workers of carrying out criminal attacks and stealing aid from trucks as starvation stalks the entire territory due to a punishing Israeli blockade.

An Israeli official cited by news agency The Associated Press said that one of the groups Netanyahu was referring to was the so-called Popular Forces, led by Yasser Abu Shabab, a local clan leader in Rafah.

Last month, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on the group’s activities – though it was named the “Anti-Terror Service” in the report – saying that sources in Gaza claimed it consisted of roughly 100 armed men operating with the tacit approval of the Israeli military.

In recent weeks, the Abu Shabab group announced online that its fighters were helping protect supply shipments to new US- and Israel-backed distribution centres run by the shadowy Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)...
