Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Slowly moving services away from the US. Went with Fastmail, which I used before. Was reading their privacy page only to find out they're hosted in the US, even though they're an Australian service.

The Ukrainian banner at the US Embassy in Stockholm has been taken down according to this article (in Swedish). It was written "We Stand With Ukraine” on the banner.

Apparently not any longer. The word "skam" can be translated to "shame"

I wonder how many times that word will be used next to "USA" in the history that is being shaped right now.....

So far I've cancelled Netflix, Amazon, Norton, switched browsers to Vivaldi, switched email to Tutamail, and only purchased non-american items. I'm still going through the de-google list.

It's a lot of work, but I'm not knowingly giving the american economy a cent of my money.

Tell us what you're changing, maybe it'll give us some ideas.

Travel and Tour World - Feb 16/25

Excerpt:

The recent announcement of U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods has ignited a strong backlash among Canadian travelers, leading to widespread cancellations of vacations to the United States. Michigan, a state that relies heavily on Canadian tourists, stands to lose millions in revenue as a result of this growing boycott. With Canada serving as the top international source of U.S. visitors, a decline in Canadian tourism could severely impact Michigan’s tourism sector, which contributes significantly to the state’s economy.

Air Canada says there are no concrete numbers or signals yet but they are preparing to decrease the number of US bound trips beginning in March, if cancellations and demand from Canadians decreases.

JCB supports 24 countries and they’re mostly focused on Asia. How can we entice them to expand to our shores? As Japan is much more trustworthy as they’re classified as a full democracy.

But we’re currently stuck with our credit cards siphoning off the profits from the fees to the antagonistic United States that may end up launching a land invasion against our country. I don’t want Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover cards funding the magas. So let’s look for the alternatives.

Does anyone know what happened to Interac and why they ended up scaling down?
